Revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
Consultation on the reform proposals finished on the 24th September. Thank you to everyone who submitted responses to this very complicated process. These revised rules will have a significant effect on any new Local Plans and future Planning Applications.
When will we know what the new NPPF will contain?
The Government’s consultation responses are still under review however Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor the Exchequer, confirmed in the October Budget that it intends to respond to any proposed changes before the end of the year and to confirm pro-growth reforms to the planning system. Previously it was rumoured that the publication of the revised NPPF ‘may’ be delayed until the New Year due to the ‘thousands and thousands’ of consultation responses received.
As soon as we have further information on the outcome of this consultation - we shall let you know.
