National planning policy framework

WHAT IS IT?

 National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)

This is the UK government's planning policies for England. It covers a range of topics, including housing, transportation, and the environment. The NPPF's goal is to promote sustainable development.

The NPPF was revised in response to the Proposed reforms to the National Planning Policy Framework and other changes to the Planning system consultation on 12 December 2024 and sets out the government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied.

AVAG responded to the consultation in 2024; most of our comments have not been included in the new NPPF. Please see details of our response below
